100th birthday




Rose Artis Stewart of Wilson turned 100 on Wednesday.

She will celebrate with a birthday dinner with family and friends at Golden Corral on Saturday.

Stewart attended school in Wayne and Greene counties. She moved to New York City and worked for A. Klein and Company over 40 years and was a home care worked for almost 20 years.

She was married to Brown H. Stewart in New York; he is no longer living. She has one living daughter and son and one deceased son. She has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

She enjoys watching TV, going out to eat and visiting with family and friends.

Stewart was born Sept. 4, 1913, in Wayne County.
