Mr. and Mrs. Pittman celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Pittman of Kenly were recently honored with a 50th wedding anniversary celebration.
The reception was held at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where the couple was married on Dec. 16, 1961. Approximately 125 friends and family attended the event that was given by their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Pittman is the former Iris Ferrell of Nahunta. She is the daughter of the late Clifton and Winnie Ferrell. Mr. Pittman is the son of the late James Atlas and Mittie Pittman, who also were married for 61 years.
Charles and Iris have two children, Teresa Pittman Kirby and husband Curtis, of Lucama and Charles Anthony Pittman of Kenly. They have five grandchildren, Jamie and Ashley Edwards, Jarrett and Victoria Kirby and Matthew Etheridge.
