Warrens have anniversary reception


A 40th wedding anniversary reception was held in honor of Charles Franklin Warren and Mary Ann Bunn Warren Nov. 13, 2011, in the fellowship hall at Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church. The reception was hosted by family members. Approximately 145 attended.

The Warrens were wed Nov. 6, 1971, in Elm City Baptist Church.

Mrs. Warren’s parents were the late Roman Franklin Bunn and Mattie Simpson Bunn of Wilson. Mr. Warren’s parents were the late Edgar Franklin Warren and Rachel Batten Warren of Micro.

Mrs. Warren graduated from Charles L. Coon High School in Wilson in 1958. She was married to William “Bobby” Edward Sharpe. They had four children: William Sharpe, Johnny Sharpe, Lori Sharpe Dixon and Brad Sharpe.

Mr. Warren made a career in the U.S. Navy, credited 221⁄2 years. He also taught in the heavy equipment program at Wilson County Technical Institute. Mr. Warren has four children: Chuck Warren, Beletha Warren Soles, James Warren and Melva Warren Campbell.

The Warrens have 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren met through Mrs. Warren’s longtime friend. “I’d call her my ‘best friend,’” said Mrs. Warren.
