Kaylynn Loren Corbin of Wilson and William Pullen Johnson of Rocky Mount were married Sept. 28 in a 3:30 p.m. ceremony at First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Tim Griffin officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sutton Corbin of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jaime James Bautista Sr. of Jacksonville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Becton Wooley Corbin Sr. of Richlands. She graduated from Fike High School and Edgecombe Community College with an associate’s degree in health sciences. She is a respiratory therapist at Wilson Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leondrous Johnson Jr., of Rocky Mount and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John William Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leondrous Johnson Sr., all of Rocky Mount. He graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High and Barton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in business administration. He is a senior financial services officer with the State Employees Credit Union.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a re-embroidered lace and silk Dupioni bridal gown styled lace bodice and V-neckline. The gown featured a pleated skirt with side pockets and a cathedral train. For her headpiece, she chose a folded mantilla veil with pencil trim.
Maid of honor was Kellen Gray Skinner of Wilson. Matron of honor was Elizabeth Corbin Herring of Wilson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katherine Elizabeth Thompson, Lilian Gretchen Wiggins, Cameron Elizabeth Batchelor and Tracy Lewis Barnes, all of Wilson.
Junior bridesmaids were Rebecca Lynne Johnson of Rocky Mount, cousin of the groom, and Paige Madison Nichols of Wilson.
Best man was the father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Donald Britt Johnson of Greenwood, S.C., and Robert Grant Johnson of Raleigh, brothers of the groom; Franklin Donald Bailey of Garner; David Cale Allison of Charlotte; and Michael Lindsay Herring of Wilson, brother-in-law of the bride. Ring bearer was Corbin Michael Herring of Wilson, nephew of the bride.
Wedding music was provided by Dee Braxton, Pellegrino violinist; Penny McCreary, organist and pianist; Auburn Smith, vocalist, cousin of the groom; and John Ebrahim, vocalist.
Register attendants were Lani Bautista of Jacksonville, aunt of the bride, and Charity Nichols of Wilson. Program attendants were Lauren Welton and Brittni Carey of Wilson. Directors were Ellen Warren and Carolyn Falk.
A reception at The Leaning Tree in Bailey followed the ceremony. Hosts were the bride’s parents.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents were hosts for a rehearsal dinner at The Leaning Tree. A bridesmaids’ luncheon was held the same day at The Legacy, hosted by an aunt of the groom and the bride’s mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have returned from a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. They live in Wilson.
June 13: A bridal shower was given by the bridesmaids at the home of Tracy Barnes.
Aug. 10: A stock the bar engagement party was given by friends of the bride and groom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hart T. Wiggins. Aug. 17: A cook out was given by friends of the groom’s parents at First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
Aug. 18: A bridal shower was given by friends of the groom’s parents at First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
