Mr. and Mrs. Keith H. Merrick of Wilson announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Merrick of Raleigh, to Doug Michael Shiveler of Chesapeake, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan L. Shiveler of Vero Beach, Fla. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Leroy Carter of Warner Robins, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell H. Merrick of Lamesa, Texas. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Sheaff of Cambridge, N.Y., and Mabel Shiveler and the late George H. Shiveler of Mickleton, N.J. A Nov. 3 wedding is planned at First Methodist Church in Wilson.
