Dr. and Mrs. J. David Edwards of Wilson announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Brewer Edwards, to Michael Fleming Dempsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Connor Dempsey of Wilson. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Richeson of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonas W. Edwards of Pinetops. The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. Dempsey of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Preston M.S. Bird III of Mount Jackson, Va. A March 23 wedding is planned at First United Methodist Church of Wilson.
