Jerry Lee Edge and Preston Brooks Bass and Cynthia Whitley Bass, all of Wilson, announce the engagement of their daughter, Alison Lee Edge of Charlotte, to Christopher James Vurnakes of Charlotte, son of James George Vurnakes and Frances Woods Vurnakes of Bahama. The bride is the granddaughter of Alton Lee Whitley of Wilson and the late Mary B. Whitley, the late Vaughn Edge and the late Reba Dew Edge of Fayetteville, and Ellen E. Bass of Stantonsburg and the late Preston Bass. The groom is the grandson of Helen P. Vurnakes of Durham and the late Pete S. Vurnakes, and the late Roger M. Woods and the late Eileen G. Woods of Durham. An April 26 wedding is planned at First Baptist Church in Wilson.
