Alan and Janet Martin of Wilson announce the engagement of their daughter, Janet Brooks Martin, to Elvin Junior Fields, son of Nancy Hart of Durham and the late Elvin J. Wyche of Oxford. The bride is the granddaughter of Jean Gay and the late Billy Gay of Wilson and the late Catherine Martin of Wilson. The groom is the grandson of the late Angeline Fields of Oxford, Edgar Royster of Creedmoor and the late Elvin Wyche Sr. and the late Essie Mae Bullock Wyche, both of New Jersey. A spring wedding is planned.
