Allison Michelle Stone of Middlesex and Jacob Scott Austin of Bailey exchanged wedding vows June 16 in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Scot Barnes officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Sheila Stone of Middlesex. She is the granddaughter of Edward and Ruth Hendricks of Nashville and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Stone. She graduated from Southern Nash High School and East Carolina University College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and is a registered nurse for Wilson Medical Center’s Medical/Palliative Care Unit.
The groom is the son of Ricky and Susie Austin of Bailey. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Austin of Charlotte, Shelby Bailey of Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Murray of Kenly. He graduated from Southern Nash High School and East Carolina University with a degree in Sociology with a Business minor and is a purchasing assistant for UTC Aerospace Systems and is a youth leader at Bailey Church of God.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk taffeta Wtoo gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, a ruched bodice, and tiered ruffled skirt. The dress was customized with a Pronovia bridal sash with crystal detailing around the waist. The back of the dress was adorned with crystal buttons, an ivory bow and a sweeping train. She wore diamond chandelier earrings, her mother’s diamond ring, and her mother’s wedding garter.
The bride chose a feather headpiece with ivory and champagne streamers and a Swarovski rhinestone center.
She carried an assortment of ivory, light green and blush pink flowers, including hydrangeas, peonies, roses and ranuculus. The bouquet was tied with ivory silk ribbon and adorned with a crystal brooch.
Matrons of honor were Heather Sherron of Wendell and Kristin Riley of Zebulon, sisters of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Carla Carothers of Bailey; Lindsey Talton of Wilson, sister of the groom; Bethany Casteel of Cleveland, Tenn.; and Bailee Stone of Middlesex.
Bridal attendants wore varying styles of key-lime green silk taffeta J. Crew dresses. Styles included a romantic ruffled collar and fitted bodice, a timeless streamline silhouette, and front bow detailing.
Flower girls were Layla Austin of Wilson and Madison Sherron of Wendell, nieces of the couple. They wore ivory dresses adorned with an ivory, slightly sparkling, organza sash.
Best man was the groom’s father.
Groomsmen were Kevin Austin of Bailey, brother of the groom; Brandon Sherron of Wendell; Travis Griffin of Bailey; Josh Talton of Wilson; and Charles Riley of Zebulon.
Ushers were Will Etheridge of Chapel Hill and Micah Shearin and Mitchell Shearin of Rocky Mount.
Ring bearers were Zachary Sherron of Wendell and Brayden Parker of Wilson, nephews of the couple.
Register attendant was Katie Sharpe.
Program attendant was Ashley Nance.
Wedding director was Hope Christian.
Wedding music was provided by pianist Wanda Flowers, violinist Carla Carothers, Nowell Strings and vocalist Patty Whittington.
The church was adorned with large flower arrangements, and included ivory hydrangeas, snapdragons and scattered ivory roses in memory of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Stone, Scotty Murray and Sylvia Jones.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Cardinal Club in Raleigh hosted by the bride’s parents.
On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was given at Fargo Steakhouse in Zebulon by the groom’s parents. Earlier that day, a bridesmaids’ luncheon was held in Rocky Mount, hosted by Libby Hendricks, aunt of the bride.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico. They reside in Sims.
