Paige Elizabeth Hottovy and Matthew Thomas Chesson exchanged wedding vows Saturday, Dec. 1 in a 6 o’clock ceremony held at Crowne Plaza La Concha in Key West, Fla. Aaron Wechter, justice of the peace, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Ray Hottovy of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Adolph Hottovy of Dwight, Neb., and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Leroy Searls of Eustis, Neb. She graduated from Torrington High School in Torrington, Conn., the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in communications and Wilson Community College with an Associate degree in nursing. She is a nurse in the intensive care unit at Wilson Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jeffries Chesson. He is the grandson of the late Barbara Jeffries Chesson, the late Joseph Nance Chesson, Katherine Chesson Scott and the late Mr. and Mrs. William John Neuhauser, all of Wilson. He graduated from Greenfield School and Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. He is the manager of Chesson Property Management, LLC.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown of fitted Alencon ivory lace. The bodice featured a delicate V-shaped neckline and complementary V-shaped back. The waistline was accented with an ivory sash tied in a bow at the back. A scalloped hemlace accented the fit and flare skirt, and a semi-cathedral train completed this romantic gown.
For her headpiece, she wore a cathedral-length, single layer veil trimmed with Alencon lace that was worn by her mother-in-law.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink garden roses. A rosary that was carried by her grandmother and mother was wrapped around the bouquet along with lace from her mother’s dress.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Marie Lucas of Greenwich, Conn., friend of the bride.
Matron of honor was Kiersten Alexis Chesson of Wilson, sister-in-law of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Alyssa Shari Gartenberg of New York City; Amanda Rebecca Tchernotchkaz of West Hartford, Conn.; Hannah Brown Davis of Wilson; Sarah Greenway May of Raleigh; Brittany Johnson Huckaby of Charlotte; and Britney Marie Foster of High Point.
Bridal attendants wore black knee-length dupioni dresses fashioned with a large flat bow detail at the low back and a bateau neckline.
Best man was Joseph Jeffries Chesson, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Joseph Adam Chesson of Wilson, brother of the groom; Riley James Hottovy and Carter Ray Hottovy of Wilson, brothers of the bride; Andrew March Wilson of New Orleans; William Fraiser Huckaby of Charolotte; and Chadwick John May of Raleigh.
Wedding music was played by James Wist, a Key West local steel drummer.
Following the wedding the parents of the bride hosted a reception at The Top of Crowne Plaza La Concha.
On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at their home in Key West. On Saturday morning, before the wedding, a bridesmaids’ brunch was hosted by the mother of the bride.
The couple will honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. When they return they will reside in Wilson.

Sept. 29: An engagement party was hosted by family and friends of the couple at Oak Tavern.
