Courtney Leigh Deans and Brian Allen Adkins, both of Bailey, exchanged marriage vows Aug. 4 in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Nobles Chapel Baptist Church in Sims. The Rev. Paul Batson officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Angela and Thomas "Ted” Elmer Deans Jr. She is the granddaughter of the late Cleo and Elmer Deans of Bailey and the late Eleanor and Lee Vick of Sims. She graduated from Southern Nash High School and Wilson Community College and is an LPN for Carolina Gastroenterology. She is attending school to become a registered nurse.
The groom is the son of Teresa and Charles McKeel and the late Jessie Lee Adkins. He is the grandson of Margaret and Danny Barnes of Bailey and the late Myrtle and Walter Adkins. He graduated from Southern Nash High School and is a diesel mechanic at Lee Motor Company in Wilson.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a one-piece strapless, slim A-line gown with a corset closure. The empress taffeta gown featured a sweetheart neckline adorned with beaded lace embellishments. The ruched bodice draped asymmetrically at the waist, and a beaded motif that accented the front side of the gown.
Maid of honor was Amanda Webb.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Whitley; Christine Deans, sister-in-law of the bride; and Victoria Morris.
Flower girl was Hannah Jones.
Best man was Donnie Adkins, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Donald Barnes; Thomas E. Deans, brother of the bride; and Andrew Hartman.
Ring bearer was Jessie Adkins.
Register and program attendant was Alexis Hathaway.
Wedding director was Linda Liles.
Wedding music was provided by pianist Butch El Ramey and soloist Amber Liles.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Willow Springs Country Club, hosted by the bride’s parents.
The rehearsal dinner was held in the fellowship hall at Nobles Chapel Baptist Church.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. They reside in Bailey.
