Kristina Marie Hackney and Michael Edward Robertson, both of Greensboro, exchanged marriage vows March 23 in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Magnolia Manor in Colfax. The Rev. Mark Robertson, uncle of the groom, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ray Hackney of Rocky Mount. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Langston of Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rea of Milford, N.H., and the late William Earl Hackney of Rocky Mount. She graduated from Southern Nash High School and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is a second grade teacher at Shadybrook Elementary School in High Point.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Edward Robertson Jr. of Greensboro. He is the grandson of Louise Robertson of Greensboro and the late Carl Edward Robertson Sr., and Betty Jones of Greensboro and the late A.K. Jones Jr. He graduated from Southeast Guilford High School and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial distribution and logistics. He is an operations supervisor at DHL Express in Greensboro.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Lea Ann Belter off-white dupioni silk, strapless gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a beautifully draped wrap bodice with the slim fluted skirt flowing into a chapel-length train featuring dramatic tuxedo pleats.
For her headpiece, the bride chose a Toni Federici flower made of silk organza and Chantilly lace adorned with a cluster of pearls and strands of ostrich feathers.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangeas, mini gerberas, and mini calla lilies.
Matron of honor was Christy Carter of Archdale, sister of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Tiffany Jackson of Charlotte, Farrah Mitchum of Greenville, Mandy Wade of Henderson, Heather Finch of Raleigh and Brittany Gentry of Greensboro.
Bridesmaids carried hand-tied bouquets of stem-dyed blue dendrobium orchids.
Flower girl was Brooklyn Carter, niece of the groom.
Best man was the groom’s father.
Groomsmen were Dean Cross of Greensboro; Kevin York of Julian; Chris Vitez of Orlando, Fla.; Brandon Hackney of Greenville, brother of the bride; and Jason Rouse of Greensboro.
Ring bearers were Bryson Carter and Nathan Carter, nephews of the groom.
Program attendants were Gray Mitchum and Faith Mitchum of Greenville.
Wedding director was Sharon Robertson of Gibsonville.
Wedding music was provided by guitarist Wiley Porter.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Ashley Ballroom of Magnolia Manor, hosted by the bride’s parents. Entertainment was provided by disc-jockey David Carter, brother-in-law of the groom.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Steak Street Restaurant in Greensboro.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They are making their home in Greensboro.
Dec. 8: A bridal shower was hosted by Becky Robertson and Christy Carter at the home of Becky Robertson in Greensboro.
Feb. 21: A bridal shower was hosted by the second-grade teachers at Shadybrook Elementary School.
Feb. 24: A bridal shower was hosted by Farrah Mitchum and Lynda Green at the home of Farrah Mitchum in Greenville.
March 2: A surprise shower was given by Brittany Gentry and other bridesmaids during the bachelorette weekend.
