Sandy Paulette Alston and Brian Martez Morgan, both of Wilson, were married Saturday in a 3 p.m. ceremony at their home. Pastor Welton Barnes officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Plummer C. Alston Jr. of Wilson and the granddaughter of Mary E. Batts and Geraldine W. Farrow of Wilson and the late Charles P. Farrow. She graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School and Barton College with a degree in elementary education. She received a master’s degree in instructional technology from East Carolina University and is employed with Wilson County Schools as a fifth-grade teacher at Wells Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Morgan of Wilson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Finch of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Morgan of Stanhope. He graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School and North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro and is a police officer with the Tarboro Police Department.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory taffeta gown fashioned with a high collar and side-draped trumpet skirt.
Leslie Morgan-Oates, sister of the groom, was matron of honor.
Junior bridesmaid was Charley G. Thompson, daughter of the bride.
Flower girl was Camryn E. Thompson, daughter of the bride.
Best man was Plummer C. Alston III, brother of the bride.
Register attendants were Natalie Mercer and Carol Abrams.
Amy Norville was wedding director.
Wedding music was presented by Jeremy Tucker, instrumentalist, and Jada Barber, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents were hosts for a reception at the Wilson Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg Falls Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will make their home in Wilson.
