Ashley Elizabeth Babb and Jeremy Wayne Falls, both of Raleigh, were wed on Oct. 27 at half past five in the evening at the Pavilions at the Angus Barn in Raleigh. The Rev. Mindy Douglas officiated. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Pavilions.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Curtis Babb Jr. of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of the late William Russell Loadholt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Herman Sanders, all of Fairfax, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Curtis Babb Sr. of Ahoskie. She graduated from James B. Hunt Jr. High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. The bride was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the North Carolina Debutante Ball in 1999. She graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. She is employed as the graphic designer for the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Edgar Falls of Bullock. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joseph Clark Falls and the late Mr. Falls of Pembroke, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ralph Albert of Pearisburg, Va. He graduated from J.F. Webb High School in Oxford, attended East Carolina University and graduated from Barton College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. He is a freelance graphic designer and is a metalsmith at Lede Studio and Gallery in Wake Forest.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory allover re-embroidered dotted Swiss tulle and guipure mermaid silhouette gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. The gown featured a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she wore an ivory fingertip mantilla accented with lace, which her mother wore in her wedding.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet in a very organic natural style that included eggplant mini callas, cymbidium orchids, ranuculus, blue thistle, copper amaranthus, cool water roses, burgundy dahlias, scabiosa pods and celosia. The bouquet was fastened with double faced satin ribbon.

Matron of honor was Bianca Gentile Shoneman of Washington. Maid of honor was Erica Leigh Butler of Raleigh.

Bridesmaids were Julie Johnson Babb, sister-in-law of the bride, of Raleigh; Jennifer Puckett Falls, sister-in-law of the groom, of Rougemont; Erin Quattrini Eckert of Raleigh; Nicole Allen Kornegay of Winterville; and Janet Marie Murdoch of Raleigh.

Flower girl was Sophia Grace Shoneman of Washington.

The groom’s father served as his best man.

Groomsmen included Jason Alan Falls, brother of the groom, of Rougemont; Russell David Babb, brother of the bride, of Raleigh; Chance Hamilton Kornegay of Winterville; Richard Aaron Lee, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Robert Lloyd Swann of Boones Mill, Va.; and Chet Adrian White of Lexington, Ky.

Janice Jordan Wooten of Wilson and Benjamin Arthur Marks of Columbia, S.C., read Scripture.

Christina Talbot Edwards of Boones Mill, Va., and Kathryn Marie Johnson of Atlantic Beach greeted guests.

The Arioso Strings Quartet consisting of Mary Block, violin; Emi Hildebrandt, violin; Matthew Chicurel, viola; and Lisa Ferabee, cello, provided wedding music.

On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Embassy Suites at Brier Creek in Raleigh. Earlier Friday, friends of the bride hosted a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Raleigh.

After a wedding trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.


Pre-Nuptial Events

July 21: An engagement party for the couple was hosted by their friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralston Daneel Butler in LaGrange.

Aug. 18: A bridal shower and brunch at the home of Julie Babb was given by the bridesmaids and friends of the bride.

Sept. 15: A party to introduce the bride to friends of the family was hosted by the groom’s parents at their home on Kerr Lake in Bullock.
