Alexis Lillie McNeil of Greensboro and Jeffery Tyrone Lucas of Lucama exchanged marriage vows April 27 in a 4 p.m. ceremony at the Joseph S. Kary Convention Center at The Four Seasons Sheraton in Greensboro. The Rev. William McNeil officiated.

The bride is the daughter of the late James Willis and Rosetta McNeil of Greensboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Lilie Mae McNeil and Roosevelt McNeil of Greensboro. She graduated from James B. Dudley High School and Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation studies and a master of science degree in occupational therapy and is employed with Gray Brier Nursing and Rehabilitation in Trinity.

The groom is the son of Joseph and Mamie Lucas of Lucama. He is the grandson of the late David Lee and Stella Mae Lucas of Nashville, and Willie and Mary Dawson of Wilson. He graduated from James B. Hunt High School, East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreational therapy, North Carolina Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, Winston-Salem State University with a Master of Science in occupational therapy and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organizational leadership at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. The groom is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. He is employed with Westchester Harbor at Providence Place Assisted Living Facility.

The bride was escorted by LaShawn McNeil.

Maid of honor was Monique Collier Nicholson.

Bridesmaids were Marketta Alexander, Janel Brown, Tiffany McNeil, Victoria McNeil, Shakeeka McPhatter, Vita Roberts, and Nakia Whitley.

Flower girl was Kirsten Turner.

Best man was Brandon Thomas.

Groomsmen were Dexter Chatman, Terrell Chesson, Herschel McNeil, Raheen Norman, Karon Owens, Shuntell Phillips, Christopher White and Christopher Woodard.

Junior ushers were Stacy Johnson and Robert Simpkins.

Ring bearer was Christopher Watkins Jr.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Victorian Ball Room and The Joseph S. Koury Convention Center hosted by Aretha McNeil and Nikkita Johnson.

On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was held at LongHorn Steakhouse.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They are making their home in Whitsett.
