Candice Nicole Davis and Joseph Putney Weaver III, both of Wilson, exchanged wedding vows May 18 in a 3 p.m. oceanfront ceremony in Emerald Isle. The Rev. Jim Tillman of Jacksonville officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Lisa Davis of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of John and Peggy McKeel of Black Creek and Alvin and Ann Davis of Black Creek. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a full-length chiffon gown fashioned with a ruched sweetheart halter bodice. Crystal beading edged the ruched waist. The back of the gown featured covered buttons down the train.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a shoulder-length white lace veil adorned with crystal embellishments along the edges.

She carried a bouquet of white, pink and sun-kissed calla lillies with eucalyptus, hand wrapped in white ribbon with a picture locket in memory of her great-grandmother Nona Floars.

Maid of honor was Heather Davis of Wilson, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Nicole Weaver, sister of the groom; Lindsey DeRatt; and Claudia Raya, all of Wilson. Maid of honor and bridesmaids wore knee-length teal, one-shoulder strap dresses with ruffles on shoulder, and carried hand-tied bouquets of white and sun kissed calla lillies.

Junior bridesmaid was Morgan McCain of New Port.

Best man was the groom’s father.

Groomsmen were Donnie Baker of Wilson, Mitch Mooring of Wilson and Matt Bowling of Rocky Mount.

Ushers were Tony Pipkin of Wilson and Stan Lewis of Rocky Mount.

Ring bearer was Weslyn Bush of Wilson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Twin Palms Event Room at The Islander.

On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was held at Rucker John’s in Emerald Isle.
