Morris-Finch

Sarah Catherine Finch of Wilson and Jordan Tyler Morris of Troy exchanged wedding vows Saturday at Fairmont United Methodist Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Jesse Clubb Jr. officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Thomas Finch of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Wilton Finch of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Richardson of Wilson. A graduate of James B. Hunt High School, the bride earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from North Carolina State University. She is a social studies teacher at James B. Hunt High School.

The groom is the son of Alan Jeffrey Morris of Troy and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgomery Clark of Albemarle. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoyt Morris Jr. of Troy and Miriam Haithcock Holt of Troy, and the late James Cleat Holt Jr. of Troy. A graduate of West Montgomery High School, the groom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, cum laude, from North Carolina State University. He is a social studies teacher at Bunn High School.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory French Alencon lace gown. It featured a V-neckline with delicate off-the-shoulder lace sleeves. Accentuating the waist was an ivory silk charmeuse ruched band. The softly-fitted full A-line skirt swept into a chapel-length train. Her Alencon lace mantilla veil, borrowed from her sister, fell gracefully into the chapel-length train.

The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas and white roses accented with lisianthus and mini calla lilles.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Caroline Finch Ives of Raleigh. Bridesmaids were Sydney Erin Morris of Troy, sister of the groom; Annie Louise Deans of Wilson; Sarah Marie Jones of Atlanta; Morgan Baxter Curtis of Cary; and Laurel Jessica Saunders of Raleigh.

The attendants wore sleeveless cowl-neck cocktail length dresses of dark purple crinkled chiffon.

Best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were Adam Gregory Holt of Raleigh, cousin of the groom; Michael Stuart Ives Jr. of Raleigh, brother-in-law of the bride; Joshua Craig Ellis of Atlanta; Christopher Wayne Jones of Raleigh; and Rawley Raymond McBride III of Portland, Ore.

Robert Montgomery Clark of Albemarle, stepfather of the groom, was reader.

Greeters were Caroline Barksdale Spencer of Wilson and Kellie Vinal of Atlanta.

Wedding music was provided by organist Dayle Welch of Raleigh and soloist Patricia Donnelly Philipps of Mebane.

Barbara Creech of Raleigh directed the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The State Club in Raleigh.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The DoubleTree Hotel in Raleigh. Earlier in the day, the bride’s mother and grandmother hosted a bridesmaids luncheon at 18 Seaboard in Raleigh.
