Jessica Rae Harrell and Daniel Clayton Mitchell, both of Holly Springs, exchanged wedding vows July 20 in a 5 p.m. ceremony at Bass Lake Park in Holly Springs. The Rev. Patrick Yelverton officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ray and Lisa Harrell of Sims. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Sylvia Taylor of Williamston and Louise Harrell of Sims and the late Hubert Harrell. She graduated from Hunt High School and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and is a registered nurse at Wake Med in Cary.

The groom is the son of Clay and Shelley Mitchell of Holly Springs and Michele Buchanan Mitchell of Lillington. He is the grandson of Joseph and Fran Johnson of Lillington, the late Fred Buchanan, and Wilbur and Marlene Mitchell of Garner. He graduated from Triton High School and Pitt Community College with an Associate of Science degree in occupational therapy assisting and is an occupational therapist assistant at Harnett Woods Assisted Living in Dunn.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory, all-over lace A-line strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline featuring beaded appliques sewn on with a motif detail.

For her headpiece, she chose an ivory elbow-length veil adorned with pearl and crystal accents. To complement her attire, she wore a pearl necklace and earrings that belonged to her great-grandmother.

She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, hot pink wax, orchids and white lilies.

Maid of honor was Brittany Harrell of Fremont, cousin of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Alyssa Cummings of Sims, Nissa Harrell of Sims, Samantha Boggs of Clayton, Lee Ann Bradley of Fuquay-Varina, Hannah

Hardison of Robersonville and Dana Polland of Coats.

The bridesmaids wore Malibu blue crinkle chiffon short dresses fashioned with a sweetheart neckline with ruching and a flowing front cascade. They carried bouquets of yellow lilies, hot pink wax and green spider mums accented with a Malibu blue ribbon.

Best man was Bryce Mitchell of Holly Springs, the groom’s brother.

Groomsmen were Joshua Harrell of Sims, brother of the bride; Chris Champion of Coats; Kenny Figueroa of Erwin; Andrew McNeill of Lillington; Noah Barefoot of Coats; and Daniel Thornton of Dunn.

Flower girl was Gwendolyn Pollard of Coats. Ring bearer was Gavin Pollard of Coats.

Ashlyn Mitchell of Holly Springs, sister of the groom, was register attendant and program attendant.

Wedding director was Trenna Harrell of Fremont.

Violinist Bonnie Morden of New Bern provided wedding music. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Bass Lake Park hosted by the bride’s family. Jackie Hardison of Robersonville was cake cutter. Music was provided by Michael Hardee.

On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was held at Bass Lake Park hosted by the groom’s family.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Nassau, Bahamas and are making their home in Holly Springs.

April 28: A wedding shower was given by the groom’s family in Lillington.

May 19: A wedding shower was given by the bride’s family in Wilson.

June 13-16: Family and friends hosted a bachelorette weekend in Wilmington.

June 28-30: Friends of the groom gave a bachelor weekend in Myrtle Beach.
