Madison Clair Wheeler of Stantonsburg and Andrew Stephen Webb of Wilson were united in marriage June 22. The Rev. Brian Tippett and the Rev. Doug Rogers officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony at Peace Church in Wilson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Grimes of Stantonsburg and Ken Wheeler of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Taylor of Stantonsburg and the late Joseph Taylor and Lillian Lamm of Wilson. She graduated from Community Christian School and Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in special education and elementary education. She is the resource director at Community Christian School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Webb of Wilson and the late Stephen Gardner. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson of Wilson, Florence Webb of Wilson and the late Frank Webb, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Gardner. He is a graduate of Wilson Christian Academy and Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is employed with BB&T in Wilson.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal strapless lace gown with a satin belt embellished with stones and sequins. The fitted trumpet skirt flowed to a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a chapel-length veil edged with vintage lace.

She carried a bouquet of white, blush and green roses and white hydrangeas.

Matron of honor was Tracy Anderson, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Katie Wheeler, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dava Rose, Jana Mercer and Victoria Webb. They wore full-length blush chiffon gowns adorned with pearl and crystal accents.

Junior flower girls were Annie Boyd Mutch and Loulee Mutch.

Flower girls were Adriana Perry and Autumn Bradshaw. They wore blush tutu dresses with pearl necklaces.

Best man was the groom’s father.

The groomsmen were Tyler Williams, Chad Mercer, Zach Eastman and Nathan McMurray.

The junior groomsmen were D.J. Madrigal and Jackson Mutch.

Ring bearer was the bride’s nephew, Benjamin Anderson.

Wedding music was presented by Faye Jones, Paige Barwick, Brad Perry and Dana McFarland.

Program and register attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Robin Mercer of Elm City, the groom’s aunt and uncle, and Carol Gray of Eureka, cousin of the bride.

Wedding director was Christi Lucas.

A reception at Wedgewood Country Club followed the ceremony. The bride’s parents hosted the event.

The wedding and reception were designed and planned by ABBA Design from Greensboro.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Peace Church catered by Something Different of Wilson. Earlier that day, the mother of the bride hosted a bridal luncheon at The Legacy in Elm City.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic.


Pre-nuptial events

April 6: A monogram bridal shower was given at the home of Lucy Mutch in Lynchburg, Va., by Lucy Mutch, Annie Boyd Mutch and Loulee Mutch.

April 14: A lingerie shower was given by Tracy Anderson and Katie Wheeler, the bride’s sisters, at the home of Tracy Anderson.

April 21: A bridal shower was given by the groom’s great aunts, Louise Gordon, Betty Whitley, Nancy Gordon, Frances Johnson and Bobbie Jo Pittman in Smithfield.
