Sarah Joy Billups and Donavan Eugene Walston were united in marriage June 1 in a 7 p.m. ceremony at Willow Springs Country Club in Wilson. The Rev. Michael McHarg officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Monica Brown of Wilson and Patrick Billups of Warren, Ohio, and the stepdaughter of Steve Brown. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Welliver and the late Rupert Welliver of Lucama and Harold and Barbara Landis of Laurelville, Ohio. The bride is in her last year at East Carolina University majoring in elementary education with a minor in child development and family relations.

The groom is the son of Toney Walston of Kenly and the late Deborah Winders Walston of Wilson and the stepson of Sandra Walston. He is the grandson of Mary-Elizabeth Walston and the late Hadie Walston of Wilson. He is a graduate of Wake Technical College and is employed by Southern Elevator in Greensboro.

The ring bearer was the couple’s 2-year-old son, Hayden Brice Walston.

After honeymooning to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Mr. and Mrs. Walston are residing in Bailey.
