Crocker-Peacock
ELM CITY -- Catherine Batts Peacock and Herbert Churchill Crocker Jr., both of Wilson, exchanged wedding vows May 3 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church. The Rev. Douglas W. Billups officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Peggy Peacock and the late James Williams Peacock of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy Tyson Batts of Elm City and the late Bess Adams Peacock of Wilson. She graduated from Greenfield School and received a bachelor's degree in business management from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is a loan services documentation specialist for BB&T.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Churchill Crocker of Nashville. He is the grandson of Peggy Ellison of Rocky Mount and the late Perry Ellison of Washington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis Lathen Crocker of Rocky Mount. He graduated from Northern Nash High School and is employed by BB&T as a corporate trust services officer.
Escorted by her brother, James Williams Peacock Jr. of Durham, the bride chose for her wedding a mock two-piece sleeveless gown of matte satin and schiffli lace. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and was embellished with bugle beads, sequins and seed pearls. The floor-length A-line skirt was adorned with garlands of beaded lace and beaded lace motifs.
For her veil, the bride chose a butterfly piece of soft illusion with a soutache trim that fell to her fingertips.
She carried a mixed bouquet of hydrangeas, tulips and roses.
Her only attendant was Kristen Elizabeth Crocker of Wilson, daughter of the bridegroom. She wore a formal gown of expresso satin. The strapless fitted bodice featured a corset back and was enhanced with a pool pleated waist band and streamers.
The bridegroom's father served as best man.
Groomsmen were James Williams Peacock Jr. of Durham, John Phillip Talton Jr. of Wilson and Jonathan Blake Talton of Wilson.
Lindsey Owens Williams and Ashlie Kemp Gay were register attendants. Joan Proctor Mizelle directed the wedding.
Wedding music was provided by organist William Pierce. Acolyte was Lanie Margaret Bizzell.
Following the ceremony, the bride's mother hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at The Jarman House. Hosts were the bridegroom's parents and aunts and uncles of the bride.
Since their return from a honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, they are living in Wilson.
