BOGUE BANKS -- Brooke Sherman Rhodes and Alferd Benjamin Goodrich II, both of Raleigh, exchanged wedding vows Saturday at Sanders Chapel, Trinity Center in Bogue Banks. The Rev. William M. Presnell officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson Rhodes of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Sherman and the late Capt. Joel Sherman of Wilson and Mrs. Jean Rhodes and the late Dr. James S. Rhodes of New Bern. She graduated from Greenfield School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Elon University. She is a regional sales representative for "Our Heritage Preserved" Reclaimed Wood Products.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Sharon Wells Goodrich and the late Chad Hall Goodrich of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Wells of Mt. Olive and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alferd Benjamin Goodrich of Goldsboro. He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and received a bachelor's degree in construction management from East Carolina University. He is a land development manager for W&W Partners, Inc.

Escorted by her father, the bride chose for her wedding a strapless couture wedding gown of white dupioni silk by Barbara Allin, featuring rusching on the bodice accented by a large flower at the side and a modified bustled skirt with a chapel-length train.

The bride wore flowers in her hair and carried a single long stemmed white rose.

Matron of honor was Erin Rhodes Gould, the bride's sister.

Bridesmaids were Gretchen Barber of Raleigh, Jodie Daku of Arlington, Va., Beth Ellsworth of Raleigh, Paige Fountain of Baltimore, Md., Katie Howell of Nashville, Tenn., Lindsey Kinnaird of Raleigh, Kelly Sibol of York, Pa., and Louise Warenda of Raleigh.

They wore cornflower blue strapless cocktail-length dresses of dupioni silk and carried single white roses.

Flower girl was Elizabeth Rhodes Gould, niece of the bride.

Chad Hall Goodrich Jr., the bridegroom's brother, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Justin Barnhill of Tarboro, Lee Brashear of New York, N.Y., Emery Ivey of Goldsboro, Darryl Kennedy of Goldsboro, Todd Nunn of Raleigh, Jeffery Nunn of Raleigh, Thomas Rhodes Jr. of Wilson, brother of the bride, and John Seegars of Goldsboro.

Thomas Jackson Rhodes III, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Register attendant was Tracy Joelyn Turner of New York, N.Y., cousin of the bride.

Tobi Michelle Turner of Tampa, Fla., cousin of the bride, served as program attendant.

Kathryn Wishon Davis of Wilson directed the wedding.

Trumpeter Dr. William B. Boles of Wilson provided music for the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Beaufort Historic Site in Beaufort.

On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at the N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. After dinner, friends of the couple hosted a dance, also at the aquarium.

Following their return from a honeymoon in Caneel Bay, St. Johns, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.

PRE-NUPTIAL EVENTS

* Jan. 26 -- An engagement party was held by friend of the couple in Raleigh.

* March 2 -- The bride's attendants honored her with a bridal shower in Wilson.

* March 28-30 -- A bachlorette weekend was hosted by the bride's attendants in Williamsburg, Va.

* May 2 -- A bridesmaids' luncheon was given at Sea Dreams Pool House. Hostesses were Sallie Cozart, Linda Miller, and Susan Powell of Wilson, and Judy Gould of Wake Forest.

* May 3 -- Tom and Mary Piggott and extended family of the bride hosted a brunch at the Piggott home.
