Business Briefs BB&T promotes Weller to assistant vice president GREENSBORO -- Blake VanPelt Weller has been promoted to assistant vice president by BB&T Insurance Services. Weller, who joined the bank in 2003, is an employee benefits consultant based at 3318 West Friendly Ave. The Wilson native earned his bachelor's degree in finance at Virginia Tech. Brewer to manage receiving station Ford Brewer has been appointed to manage receiving station operations at Wilson Tobacco Services Inc. Brewer comes to Wilson Tobacco Services with seven years experience in receiving station management at the Philip Morris receiving station in Hahira, Ga.
