Woman charged with stabbing boyfriend

Police say a Wilson County woman stabbed her boyfriend in a moving car on a busy Wilson road Saturday night.

Nikita Shannel Dixon, 29, of 8644 Revell Road outside Kenly, is accused of stabbing 29-year-old Victor Lamont Melvin of 1703 Snowden Drive while they were driving to Cook-Out on Raleigh Road Parkway.

Melvin called police from the Wells Fargo parking lot to report the stabbing around 10:30 p.m., Capt. Tad Shelton said. Police found Dixon minutes later in the Ruby Tuesday parking lot on Raleigh Road Parkway.

Dixon was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and driving while impaired. She was booked into the Wilson County Detention Center without bond on the domestic violence-related assault charge.

Melvin was taken to Wilson Medical Center and received treatment for his injuries. Police issued him a citation on a charge of simple possession of marijuana.
