Officers arrested Powell after responding to a domestic-related call at a business, police said.

A patrol officer was able to locate the car Powell was a passenger in near the area of Nickel Drive and Tuskegee Street, according to Police Sgt. Steve Stroud.

Police tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Powell fled and was caught after a short chase, according to Stroud.

Powell was served with outstanding warrants for breaking and entering a motor vehicle

In addition, he was charged with resist an officer and assault on a female.

He’s currently being jailed on a domestic no bond hold. He received an additional $1,000 bond for resisting arrest.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to contact the Wilson Police Department at 399-2323 or CrimeStoppers at 243-2255.

Police had previously identified Powell as a suspect in the break-ins and issued warrants in those cases.
