Monday, February 11, 2013 1:07 PM Four charged in fatal drive-by shooting By Corey Friedman | Times Online Editor Sheriff’s deputies have charged four people with murder in a drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 41-year-old Nash County woman. Investigators believe Charles Stanley Hinnant Jr., 19, of the 11000 block of N.C. 581 north of Bailey, and three accomplices killed Portia Hinnant in her home outside Middlesex last Thursday. Deputies say Charles Hinnant had a dispute with Portia Hinnant’s son. The 41-year-old was shot and killed inside her Old Middlesex Road home from a passing car, deputies said. Two other people inside the home were unhurt. Authorities on Monday arrested Charles Hinnant along with Dominique Jerrod Brown, 21, of the 4000 block of Hornes Church Road northeast of Bailey, Anna Perry, 17, of the 7000 block of Southern Nash High Road north of Bailey and Adrian Marquis Joyner of the 4000 block of Hornes Church Road. Brown and Joyner live on the same block, but do not share the same home, Nash County sheriff’s Capt. Pat Joyner said in a statement. Deputies charged Hinnant, Brown, Perry and Joyner with one count each of first-degree murder, felony conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into occupied property inflicting serious bodily injury. Each of the four suspects is being held without bond in the Nash County Jail in Nashville and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday. |

Hmmm said...
No excuse for this crime...but some kids do stupid things, get involved with stupid others because it gives them the "high" of affirmation from their peers, which is often more important than affirmation from parents or a spiritual source. They just pick the wrong "others". Pack mentality reigns and tragic things happen. What a shame because these kids are young and immature...they're on a track to never growing up; never really maturing. Hopefully, time will change them - and hopefully, they'll find that time behind bars. Our brains have the capacity to be so influenced/brainwashed so as to perceive a very skewed "reality". Their new reality will be behind bars.

Portia Hinnant was one of the best people that I have ever known and she did not deserve this. My friend is gone forever!! Doesnt matter what color these people are they deserve to hang for killing my friend. This wife,mother, sister, friend can NEVER be replaced!!! God Bless her family!!

yes i know them all and i know for a fact the girl is no good..her dad should of put her somewhere wild and he tried his best to give her everything she wanted and needed but she was to busy with her friend "guys" and yes they were on her car and yes CJ is her boyfriend..doesnt matter if they are white or black still doesnt give them the right to go to someones house and shoot it up. Two of them had been in jail for drug..read the papers look it up..they all need to get the same charge if they had a gun or not..these punks dont need to get away with it
