Wilson County could see snow, dense fog

Snowflakes may be spotted in Wilson County late Wednesday and early Thursday, but don’t expect a blanket of fresh powder.

National Weather Service meteorologists predict little to no accumulation as rain changes over to snow Wednesday night. A strong cold front and upper-level disturbance sweeping the state are expected to bring the wintry mix.

The weather service’s Raleigh forecast office issued a hazardous weather outlook for Wilson County and surrounding counties Tuesday afternoon. Officials predicted dense fog overnight Tuesday and rain preceding snow Wednesday and Thursday.

Severe weather is possible as the upper-level disturbance and cold front move through North Carolina.

"Considerable uncertainty remains with this system and residents are urged to monitor the latest forecasts,” the weather service bulletin states.

Nearly a third of all North Carolina counties are named in the hazardous weather outlook. They include Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, Johnston, Wake and Halifax counties.

Or maybe I need to fire up a discussion about the hospital or gay rights to actually get a comment approved!!! Or on whatever else the mighty WILSON (DON'T CALL ME DAILY) TIMES is beating in the ground now as their the flash-in-the-pan, flavor-of-the-month, hot button topic!!! This method of commenting STINKS!!! Picking and choosing allowed comments doesn't jive with The Wilson Daily Times's supposed stance on FREE SPEECH!!!
