Schools to operate on delay Tuesday


Emergency management and weather officials are warning of patches of black ice as the temperatures quickly drop. Wind chills in Wilson County on Tuesday morning are expected to be -5 degrees. Wilson County Schools plans to operate on a two-hour delay.

High schools will start their day at 9:30 a.m., elementary schools at 10 and middle schools at 10:30. Wilson Early College Academy will operate on a one-hour delay. 

Nash-Rocky Mount Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Edgecombe County Schools will operate on a 3-hour delay. Greene County Schools and Johnston County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay.

I think this was a good call. Children standing outside in the dark and cold waiting for buses is concern. Buses need a chance to work properly. Employees need to deal with car issues. For this part of the state it was COLD.
