Jackson sinks first career ace at Wedgewood

Gene Jackson ended a four-decade, hole-in-one drought Thursday morning at Wedgewood Public Golf Course.

The Battleboro resident celebrated the first ace in his 44 years of playing the sport on No. 7. Jackson hit a 7-iron to reach the cup 147 yards away.

Witnessing the feat were playing partners Harold Walker and Russell Turner along with course maintenance worker Ardie Phillips, who happened to be nearby.
