The 7U league will consist of only 7U players and the 8Us will consist of only players 8 years old. Players in each age division must be on an active 2008 WCYAA team to attend the tryouts and must attend a minimum of two of the three tryouts in order to make the team in their respective age divisions. Select softball teams will compete in the Babe Ruth Eastern North Carolina State Tournament held in Henderson on July 9-13, and in the Southeast Regional Tournament held in Wilson from July 16-20. Baseball select teams will compete in the E.N.C. Babe Ruth District Four Tournament to be held in Wilson, June 23-27. Winners of the district tournament will advance to state tournament play. Baseball, softball registrations ongoing The Wilson County Youth Athletic Association is continuing its ages 13-18 division baseball and softball registrations for the following age divisions: * Softball -- 14-under, 16-under and 18-under * Basebal -- 13, 14-15, and 16-18 The registrations will continue through the May 16. The softball teams will play against teams from Johnston County, Edgecombe County, and Nash counties. The baseball teams will play against teams from Johnston, Greene, and Wayne counties. The teams will begin practices and games immediately. The regular season will run through the first week of July for baseball and the last week of June for softball. The registration fee for both baseball and softball is $65 per player. The WCYAA offices are located at 101 North Main Street in Lucama.
