PIKEVILLE — The Charles B. Aycock High cross country team launched its 2014 season Wednesday by hosting a three-team 3-A/4-A Eastern Carolina Conference meet. Greenville D.H. Conley, a 4-A member of the split league, earned the top overll team score.

Also competing was 4-A Greenville Rose.

Sarah Gregory was the top finisher for the 3-A Lady Golden Falcons, followed by Tara Price, Mercedes Sterling, Georgia Parnell and Emily Waters.

“For the first meet of the year, I thought our girls did very well, and I was quite proud of them,” first-year CBA coach Frances Morgan assured. “We look forward to working on lowering our times throughout the rest of the season.”
