Panthers place ninth in 1-A golf BUIES CREEK -- The North Johnston varsity boys golf team finished in ninth place Tuesday in the 11th annual N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A golf championships at Keith Hills Country Club. The Panthers of the Carolina Conference finished in ninth place with a 348-353--694 on the par-72, 6,500-yard course. Will Shearin (80-76--156) recorded North Johnston's best individual performance with an eighth-place finish. Panthers edged in second round The North Johnston baseball team bowed out of the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs Tuesday afternoon after falling to East Columbus 3-1. No additional game details were available. The Panthers of the Carolina Conference conclude the season 13-6.
