Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Brooke Bell
Senior Brooke Bell was the winning pitcher in all three of her Charles B. Aycock High softball team’s state 3-A playoff games last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Brooke’s record on the season improved to 20-2 as she struck out 27 in the three wins, two of which were shutouts, to send Aycock to the state finals series. She also batted .444 last week.
On the season, Brooke is hitting .392 with 13 RBIs and a team-high 12 doubles. She has a season ERA of 0.71 with 172 strikeouts.
The daughter of Lisa and Charles Bell of Pikeville, Brooke holds a weighted 3.3 grade point average at Aycock, where she is a member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). She also played volleyball for the Golden Falcons.
Brooke, a four-year varsity starter at CBA, will continue her softball career at Pitt Community College. She also played for the Wayne County Hurricanes travel softball team.
