Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Ajay Williams
Ajay Williams provided plenty of firepower for the Beddingfield High varsity boys basketball team last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Bruins went 2-1 last week with Ajay, a 6-foot-5 junior wing averaging a double-double of 22.7 points and 11 rebounds. He had a career-high 25 points to go with 10 rebounds in Tuesday’s 65-59 win at Fike. On the week, which included an overtime win against Southern Nash and an OT loss at Hunt, Ajay made 18 of 19 free-throw attempts.
Ranked No. 5 in his class at Beddingfield, Ajay has a 4.35 grade point average. He is a member of the school’s chapter of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also plays football and baseball for the Bruins.
The son of Dorothy and Jimmy Williams of Elm City, Ajay and his family attend Olive Chapel Baptist Church in Sharpsburg where he sings in the choir and is a sound technician.
Over the summer, Ajay worked as a volunteer at Wilson Medical Center’s Volunteen Program.
