Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Dwanya Williams-Sutton
Dwanya Williams-Sutton has helped keep the Hunt High varsity boys basketball team flying high all season, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Dwanya, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, has helped the Warriors to an 11-3 mark, including Friday’s 69-64 defeat of defending state 3-A champion Rocky Mount, the Gryphons’ first loss in their new gym.
Playing guard and forward, Dwanya is averaging six points and four rebounds per game.
In the first grading period, Dwanya, a transfer from Greenfield School, landed on the Principal’s List for making straight A’s. In the spring, he plans to play baseball.
In his spare time, Dwanya plays basketball for a Wilson County Youth Athletic Association team and for the Wilson Pelicans travel baseball team.
The son of Latosha Williams of Wilson and Al Sutton of Wilson, Dwanya and his family attend New Vester Missionary Baptist Church in Sims. He loves spending time with his family, which includes two sisters and two brothers.
