Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Jonathan Abrams
Jonathan Abrams continued his standout play for the Wilson Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
In the Chargers’ two games last week — a 64-57 win at Alamance Christian and a 58-53 home loss to Wake Christian — Jonathan, a senior, had 26 points, 10 rebounds and five steals while shooting 43 percent from the floor. Jonathan, who is averaging 13.1 points per game, also swished six 3-pointers. His 3-point accuracy is 35 percent on the season.
An honor-roll student at Wilson Christian, Jonathan also is a standout on the Chargers’ soccer and baseball teams. He also performed in the senior class play, "How Does a Thing Like That Get Started?”
The son of Carol and Stan Abrams of Wilson, Jonathan is active at Tabernacle Baptist Church and works part-time at Auto Bell.
He plans to enroll at Liberty University and hopes to have a career in law.
