Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Jordan Sharpe
Jordan Sharpe led his Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team to the 1-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference tournament championship last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jordan, a 6-foot-3 senior wing, earned tourney MVP acclaim as the top-seeded Knights took down Epiphany in Friday’s semifinals and Fayetteville Freedom Christian in the final Saturday. He scored a team-high 23 points to go with seven rebounds in the latter outing.
For the season, Jordan is averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game along with 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
He is also a soccer and golf all-conference performer — winning the CPIC individual golf championship as a sophomore — at Greenfield, where he belongs to the Student Government Association, Students Against Destructive Decisions and Students Against Violence Everywhere.
The son of Connie and Marvin Sharpe of Wilson, Jordan is active in Walking By Faith Ministries in Wilson.
A former member of the AAU basketball team the Wilson Knights, Jordan hopes to continue his basketball career in college where he plans to major in sports management.
