Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Wes Beamon

Beddingfield High senior Wes Beamon was an offensive force in two sports last week, making his this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Wes proved to be the top scorer in the second Rotary Cup boys soccer tournament, netting six goals and adding an assist as the Bruins went 2-1 to finish tied for second. In his final Rotary Cup outing, a 9-1 Beddingfield win over Community Christian on Thursday, Wes scored three goals in 20 minutes before departing for place-kicking duty in the Bruins football game at Southern Nash.

There, Wes drilled a 45-yard field goal and three extra points while punting four times for a 35.7-yard average and putting two kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks.

The son of Lynn and Jimmy Beamon of Saratoga, Wes goes into his senior year ranked No. 4 in his class and has a 4.65 weighted grade point average.

He is a member of Student Government Association, National Honor Society and Future Farmers of America.

He volunteers at Wilson Veterinary Hospital and is active at Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
