Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Hunter Hackett

Hunter Hackett’s bat gave his Hunt High baseball team a chance during its state 3-A playoff game last week at Topsail, making him this week’s Thomas

& Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Hunter, a senior, had two of the Warriors’ seven total hits as they fell 2-1 in the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic

Association 3-A playoffs. Hunter was voted to the all-Big East Conference team as the Warriors finished second in the league.

Hunter has a 3.2 weighted grade point average at Hunt where he participates in the AVID College Readiness System and is a member of Club

UNIFY. He was voted Most Optimistic in his senior class.

Hunter has volunteered his time for the Hunt baseball program summer camps and other projects. He is a member of the Wilson American Legion Post 13 baseball team this summer. Hunter is also an avid disc golfer in his spare time.

The son of Angie Hackett and the late Tony Hackett of Wilson, Hunter plans to attend Pitt Community College and then transfer to East Carolina University.
