Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Cody Pittman

Junior third baseman Cody Pittman’s play helped his Hunt High varsity baseball team secure the 3-A Big East Conference tournament title last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

In a 9-4 semifinals win against Rocky Mount and a 10-8 defeat of Nash Central in the championship game, Pittman batted .625 with four runs scored, two RBIs, a double and a stolen base.

Cody ranks 46th in his class academically with a 3.8 grade point average. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Student Booster Club at Hunt, where he was also a standout on the varsity football team last fall.

Cody played for the Wilson American Legion Post 13 baseball team last summer.

The son of Melissa and Kevin Pittman of Kenly, Cody is active at St. Mary’s Free Will Baptist Church in Kenly.
