Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Robbie Stokely


Robbie Stokely helped his Greenfield School varsity baseball team to a pair of key wins last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Robbie, a junior, hit .500 with a double and two RBIs as the Knights beat Wayne Country Day 8-2 in the regular-season finale Monday then opened the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs with a 12-2 romp past Fayetteville Trinity Christian on Friday. Against WCD, Robbie also pitched four innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.

For the season the 6-foot-9 right-hander is 6-2 with a 2.07 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. He’s also batting .315 with 16 RBIs while splitting time between the mound and first base.

Robbie was also a key member of the Knights’ NCISAA 1-A runner-up basketball team. He has a 3.5 weighted grade point average at Greenfield, where is a member of the Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE), Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Science Club.

The son of Cindy and Robert Stokely of Wilson, Robbie works in the summer as a sports counselor for Wilson Recreation Department. He also volunteers his time at Clothes Line, which benefits Wesley Shelter.
