Thomas & Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Mary Love Taylor

Mary Love Taylor was right in the middle of the action last week as Greenfield School won its seventh N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A girls soccer championship, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Mary Love, a freshman midfielder, scored a goal in the Knights’ 3-0 win in Saturday’s state championship match. She had an assist as Greenfield topped Community Christian in Friday’s semifinals. She earned a spot on the NCISAA 1-A all-state squad.

Mary Love, the daughter of Lovie and Stephen Taylor of Wilson, made straight A’s all year at Greenfield, where she belongs to the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) clubs.

She plays for Capital Area Soccer League ‘96 Chelsea Ladies club soccer team and also plays piano in her spare time.

Mary Love is active at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, where she often volunteers her time working with the soup kitchen.
