Senior Ashley Warren closed out her Beddingfield High softball career with a state championship last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Ashley caught both games of the state 2-A finals series as the Lady Bruins won 1-0 in 10 innings and 3-2 for the sweep of Madison High. She batted .429 with a pair of doubles in the series.

Ashley also played volleyball and basketball at Beddingfield, where she is ranked No. 3 in the graduating class with a weighted grade point average of 4.5. She is in National Honor Society and is a Bruins Freshman Mentor. Ashley also volunteers her time for such organizations as Special Olympics and For the Love of Dogs.

The daughter of Joe and Beth Warren of Wilson, Ashley has been accepted into the Honors College at East Carolina University where she is one of 100 incoming to earn a full academic scholarship. She hopes to major in biology, with plans to become a radiologist, and minor in Spanish.

Ashley and her family attend Owens Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
