Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Riley Bane


Riley Bane had a big hand in her Fike High varsity volleyball teams three wins last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Riley, a junior setter, produced 27 assists, nine points, six digs, three aces and two kills as the Lady Demons completed their season sweep of Beddingfield on Monday. On Tuesday, Riley had 15 assists, nine digs and nine service points against Rocky Mount and, at Northern Nash on Thursday, she totaled 21 service points, four aces, nine digs and 16 assists as the Lady Demons pushed their unbeaten streak to 13 matches.

Riley, who transferred to Fike from Farmville Central this year, belongs to Club Unify and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Fike. She will apply for membership to National Honor Society this year.

The daughter of Susan and Art Bane of Wilson, Riley is active in Life Teen youth group at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Greenville. She volunteers her time for such endeavors as working in soup kitchens, visiting nurseries and the elderly.

Riley previously played softball at Farmville Central and travel volleyball for East Carolina Junior Volleyball Club.
