Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Laurie Williamson

Senior Laurie Williamson had a big hand in a big week for the Beddingfield High varsity volleyball team last week, making her this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

In Beddingfield’s defeat of Farmville Central to secure a share of the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference title, Laurie had 14 kills and 18 service points. In three matches last week, she totaled 26 kills, 41 service points, two aces and two blocks.

Ranked fourth in her class entering the school year, Laurie maintains a 4.3 weighted grade point average at Beddingfield, where she is a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also serves as the vice president of the Bruinettes service club and sings in the vocal ensemble in the Beddingfield chorus. Laurie is also a member of the Lady Bruins soccer team.

The daughter of Janet and Greg Williamson of Wilson, Laurie is active in her youth group at Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, doing volunteer work.

She hopes to major in graphic design and play volleyball in college.
