Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Jamie Braswell

Senior Jamie Braswell played a key role in the Community Christian School varsity boys basketball team’s two wins to open the season last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Jamie, a 6-foot guard, netted nine points and grabbed a pair of rebounds as the Cyclones tipped off their season Tuesday with an 83-27 defeat of Eastern N.C. School for the Deaf. He followed that Thursday with a game-high 21 points to go with five rebounds as CCS whipped Statesville Christian 69-48. In three games thus far, Jamie is averaging 17.3 points per game to lead the Cyclones.

An honor-roll student at CCS, Jamie is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He plays AAU basketball with Showtime Elite of Raleigh and holds a part-time job at Bojangles’ restaurant in Wilson.

The son of Brendella Pope of Raleigh, Jamie resides with his grandmother, Margie Braswell, in Wilson while attending CCS.

He hopes to continue his basketball career in college, where he plans to major in communication.
