Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Thomas Matrejek
Thomas Matrejek helped the Hunt High boys swim team win its first 3-A Big East Conference meet of the season last week, making him the Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Thomas, a junior, was part of the Warriors’ victorious 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay units. Swimming individually, he won the 200 backstroke and placed second in the 200 individual medley.
Thomas is ranked No. 5 in his junior class with an unweighted grade point average of 4.625. He is a member of Student Government Association at Hunt and was just inducted into the school’s chapter of National Honor Society.
The son of Barbara and Chris Matrejek of Wilson, Thomas is active in Wilson Arts Council’s ACT! for Youth productions and is a member of Boy Scout Troop 6.
He also swims year-round for the Wilson Barracudas Swim Team.
