Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Desmon Jackson

Desmon Jackson played a pivotal role in his Southern Nash High varsity boys basketball team’s thrilling 47-45 win at Fike last Friday, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Desmon, a senior guard, threaded a pass to freshman Marques Wright, whose backdoor layup with 2 seconds left gave the Firebirds the victory in the 3-A Big East Conference opener. Desmon had nine points, all on 3-pointers.

For the season, he’s averaging 7.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Desmon was an All-Big East and Wilson Times All-Area selection for the Southern Nash football team. He will run track again this spring.

He is a member of Southern Nash’s chapter of DECA.

The son of Cynthia Lucas and Robert Jackson of Bailey, Desmon is a speaker every other Sunday at Lifeline Christian Center in Spring Hope.
