Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Casey Flora

Casey Flora was good all the way to the end of his senior season for the Beddingfield High varsity baseball team last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Casey pitched a gem as the Bruins downed Tarboro 3-2 on Monday to clinch the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference’s No. 3 seed for the state playoffs. He also went 1 for 4 with an RBI. In Friday’s season-ending loss, Casey drove in a run with a 1-for-3 day while taking the loss on the mound.

He finished the season 6-5 with a 2.61 ERA and a team-high 46 strikeouts while hitting .272.

Ranked No. 19 in his class, Casey has a 3.7 weighted grade point average at Beddingfield, where he is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America and the chorus and vocal ensemble. He was also a member of the swim team.

The son of Linda and Rusty Flora of Saratoga, Casey is active in the youth group at Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

He plans to go to Pitt Community College for two years and then pursue a degree in marine biology at UNC Wilmington.
