Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Coltan Schiefer


Coltan Schiefer helped keep the Wilson Christian Academy varsity boys soccer team rolling last week, making him this week’s Thomas & Farris Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Coltan, a senior striker, had a goal in each of the Chargers’ three wins as they improved to 8-1 on the season with their sixth straight victory. Wilson Christian beat Rocky Mount Academy 2-0 at home Monday, blasted visiting Greenville Christian 7-1 on Tuesday and finished the week with a 2-0 triumph at Raleigh Friendship Christian.

Coltan has nine goals on the season.

At Wilson Christian, Coltan has a 4.2 grade point average and will be inducted into the school’s chapter of National Honor Society this week. An aspiring sports journalist, Coltan conducts a daily sports update as part of his speech class and helps maintain the WCA athletics Twitter accounter.

He also plays baseball for the Chargers and has played basketball in past seasons.

This past summer, Coltan interned for the Wilson Tobs and attended Carolina Sports Journalism camp.

The son of Stephanie and Geoffrey Schiefer of Wilson, Coltan is the president of his youth group at Tabernacle Baptist Church. He went on a mission trip to Nova Scotia over the summer. He plans to attend Liberty University.
